1. Shake and Bake Continuously!

    Thursday, March 6, 2008
    By johnny
Just want to share this one thing:

Test me, O Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind.
    -Psalm 26:2-

    In other words,
"Lord, come and shake what can be shaken
and break what can be broken.
(and come bake what can be baken...j/k)"

This is from the mighty king David to the Lord.
We gotta ask God to do the same to us.
It is through shake & bake that our faith is tested.
And after the test, our faith grows for another inch!

Just like today during Speach's first class about Hearing God's Voice. He talked about some stories and how everyone can have dreams, yet God does not only communicate with us through dreams but many many other ways. And then in the end, somehow, we all caught this burden about UCSD being the promise land & the garden that's being restored; we were all crying out to the Lord to ask Him to break us apart and confessing our sins before men and God once again.

    Shake & Bake, Jesus!
    Love You Lord.

    Johnny

ps. This is the favor of the Lord: I got an A on my paper!!!!! XD After 13 hours of work, the Lord has favor over my grade! I was overjoyed when I saw the grade!!!

pps. I'm encouraged to hear that you are encouraged. I mean, who doesn't want to see the FULLNESS of His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven? We've heard so many stories about dead men coming back to live, yet there's still fear within....the little voice of the enemy telling us, "man....just look at the odds....nah...." WHY NOT? He's alive, isn't He? Then I'm just going to pray and believe! =)

  2. Resurrection? Why Not?

    Wednesday, March 5, 2008
    By johnny
I have nothing to lose. So I'm just going to pray to God to resurrect my aunt back to life. If she comes back to life, then praise be unto the Lord; if she does not, then praise be unto the Lord. The Lord gives and takes away according to His will.

"But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days." Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard me. I knew that You always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that You sent me." When He had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out...
    -John 11:39~44-

So I called Jack & Annie(Enoch's there also) and flat out tell them that what I'm about to do: call up dad and pray for my aunt who died yesterday to come back to life! They were supportive of my action and prayed over me boldness and faith.

Called up my dad. He was with my mom and my uncle on the mountain at this
cemetery to find a place to rest my aunt's cremains (ash after cremation of her body). So I told my dad that I believe there's still a chance for my aunt to come back alive through prayers. And I told him that there are so many testimonies around the world about physical resurrection. I mean, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11) when He saw the faith of Martha and Mary.

    Jesus wept. -John 11:15-
The shortest verse in the entire Bible, yet most powerful. Jesus wept for the dead! And the next thing He did was to being the dead back to life!

My dad's the best in the world. He did not think that I'm completely insane! I mean, I was totally stirred up and I told him why I want to pray this prayer for my aunt. He understood where I was coming from and he told me that he was also praying to God to save her when they were at the hospital, but not for resurrection. Yet he's explaining the possibilities to me: my aunt is right now FROZEN in the refrigerator until MARCH 25, the burial/cremation-- so the chances for her to come back alive is low, especially when she is frozen; moreover, no one would really go check up on her until the 25th. So my dad told me the only chances for resurrection is when she's out of that ice box, which is on the 25th.

So I prayed that she would come back alive when she's being moved out from the refrigerator anytime between now and the 25th of this month. My dad's such a wonderful man. He made a really good point that we should also pray for the safety for the rest of the family because we might blank out when we drive or when we walk and might get ourselves into accidents or dangers. So I also prayed for that and I spoke peace and comfort and reconciliation and unity within my family through this incident. I could sense that my dad was touched by my prayer because peace, comfort, and unity are needed during this period. And I also told my dad that if there's a chance I can go back during my spring break for a week and pray for the resurrection of my aunt right there before the cremation on the 25th. We'll see. Lord, if this is what You've planned, open up doors!

I mean, this really took a lot of faith. I'm not saying that I'm full of faith. I'm saying that I believe that Jesus' still alive today and the Word of God endures forever. And if the above statement is true and I'm following this Christ, then I'm going to pray for the resurrection of my aunt! I mean, come on, WHY NOT? I'm not going to lose any faith, rather my faith's going to be strengthened because my faith is being tested right now as I'm stepping out to the most radical zone and praying for my family. My dad told me that he would explain my heart and my prayer to my mom and especially my uncle. He told me that he wouldn't tell my grandparents that much but only about the praying for peace and comfort. I have so much respect for my dad. If he's really determined to take up the cross and follow Jesus wholeheartedly, he would be so much like Jesus! So that was what happened. Lord, give me the faith of Martha and Mary that breaks Your heart and makes You weep.

I know that there was no refrigerators 2,000 years ago, yet I believe that You can still perform resurrection today even though my aunt's body's frozen and will be frozen for the next 3 weeks! I hope that she'll be taken out from the refrigerator before 25th and she'll come back alive.

I want to leave you with this thing which my dad told me during our talk: If you go fishing on ice in the winter, the moment the fish surfaced and entered the frozen atmosphere, the fish would be frozen instantaneously(yes, like the movie The Day After Tomorrow). And if you put the fish back in the water again, it would come back to live again (it's sort of like Austin Powers, but not really). I was even more encouraged! I believe that my act of faith has somehow touched my dad. Thank You Holy Spirit. I believe You're stirred up my dad's heart right now.

MOREOVER, if this news article is real, then I don't think the chances for my aunt to come back alive are low. Rather, the chances are much higher comparing to the organism in this article below! Very fascinating indeed. Frozen for 32,000 years compared to 3 days? Tell me about low chances!

Please keep on praying for my family: peace, comfort, safety, reconciliation, and salvation. Keep up your faith, because He is still alive!

I'll share about Facing The Wall tomorrow.

    Johnny

ps. Lou Engle and Dwayne Roberts were going to come to YOPP tonight! However Lou wasn't feeling well and he's heading to IHOP for Passion For Jesus conference tomorrow so they didn't come to YOPP......argh.....it's alright. I believe there's another chance for us to meet Lou and Dwayne.

pps. The Call West Coast is set and ready to roll in San Diego, people! August 2nd, Qualcomm stadium. 100,000 people from the west are expected and anticipating it. Please set that day apart for The Call. This is for the entire west coast, not just San Diego! And then there will be The Call East Coast. And then there will be The Call DC II. Get excited. I'm so looking forward to this.

ppps. Today I was encouraged by everyone at YOPP for everyone told me that I should just go and pray for my aunt to come back to life! And this guy Micah who's been performing signs and wonders at San Diego State University told me that I've got an anointing for worship and I should keep on doing it and pray for a keyboard so that I can worship in public. Tonight was awesome. And I just praise the Lord.

    pppps. Jeff, get some sleep.

  3. Facing The Wall

The book came in right at the moment when I needed.

I've only read 17 pages of the book and I've learned so much about worship, praise, prophets, and musicians. The book is called Facing The Wall by Don Potter. I'm going to share some everyday about this book.

    CHAPTER 1 - A Little History
To truly worship God one must be ready to bow low and serve.

    Sacrifice = Offering
To make an offering or a sacrifice of praise to God means you desire to draw near to Him. That's why He takes these offerings so seriously...Though your heart is full of joy when you see someone once a week, there can be no deep raltionship until there has been a sacrifice to show the depths of your desire to know them.

    CHAPTER 2 - Prophet/Musicians
Music has the power to call people. It has the strength to turn heads and change hearts. It can also turn people back to God, and I believe that is still its purpose.

    1 Samuel 10:5~6, 9~10.
This shows that there is power in the prophetic musician for the changing of men's hearts. However, another thing must happen before a man's life goes through real change. In verse 10 it says the Spirit of the Lord came on Saul when he saw the company of prophet/musicians. If God had not changed his heart, Saul would not have been able to receive from the Holy Spirit.

Music or even praise will just be background sound if God does not change the heart. With that change in place, then music can become a vehicle for prophecy, praise , healing, protection, and many more things in the Lord.

Remember that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy(Rev. 19:10). Moving in the prophetic should be evidence of Jesus.
    -------------------------------------------------------

I've absorbed so much from the first 17 pages. I'm very excited to have gotten this book. Eddie was talking about it during YOPP two weeks ago.

One more thing to share--this totally hit me right in the heart in the book: The weapon to use when jealousy, envy, and strife are starting to come against you is prophetic praise as this is a spiritual war.

It's so true. After worship today by myself, my emotions were really restored and the sadness and sorrow were gone. Peace and joy live within me. That's the power of music. God teach me how to drive this vehicle--play music--that brings miracles! What struck me hard is that "without the heart change, the music would have just provided a nice background."

God, only You can turn men's hearts toward You! And what I'm called to do is to follow You and use music to worship with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength!

    Love You Lord.
Would You come and change my family!

  4. Faith, Hope, Love, Peace

Just talked with dad. He's holding strong to be there for his brother, my uncle. Please keep my uncle James in your prayers. He hasn't slept since the incident. He must feel lost. Jesus would You come to his rescue as he does not know where to turn and who to talk to. Reveal Yourself to uncle James! You love him so much, my Lord.

Right when Jeff and I arrived at school, we bumped into Maritha and Grace. God bless them. They were just about to head to class, but they ended up praying for me for over 10 minutes. I started to tear up as they were praying for me. "Look up. Do not look down." That's what Maritha told me. And Grace spoke peace into my family. Lord thank You for Maritha and Grace. I believe it was You who arranged our meeting.

Casey came over and gave me a card and a comfort food--microwavable chocolate cake lol...it tasted quite good actually. Thanks Casey. God's going to use Your tender heart to comfort many souls.

Annie's right. Why could I even do if I were to head back to LA? Mourning is over. It's time to praise the Lord. So at around 3pm I went to a piano room and started to praise God. I recorded the last 20 minutes with my laptop. I poured out my heart, soul, mind, strength, everything. The more I praised, the more joy and peace I received. I gave my best to God. I know His plan is higher and wiser than my thoughts. After 45 minutes of playing, singing, praising, and praying, I went to class, with refreshed energy. I felt the peace.

Jeff's been a great friend. I ate dinner at his room and listened to my recording. I almost teared up as I listened to it. God I believe in You. I still love You. More and more I will love You.

  5. Spirit of Job

    Here's what I wrote on January 11

    Here's my nightly reading: Job 1 & 2

Job, a man who had it all--family, good occupation, wealth, servants, and God's blessings. He got completely BEAT DOWN just because God allowed Satan to mess up his life in order to show Satan how faithful a servant Job is. I was like...man, that sucks. I'm not Job, but after just reading the first 2 chapters I yearn for the spirit of Job.

Here's what he said after hearing all his family, oxen, sheeps, and camels burnt, stolen, and dead:
    The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.
    -Job 1:21-

Many believers experienced what happened to Job yet did not stand faithful; therefore, they started to curse God and doubt His existence and eventually became atheists.

Yet Job did not back down.
He gave God more praise than before.

And after he was paralyzed and sick from head to toe, he still held on to the Lord. Job said to his pessimistic wife,
"Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"
    -Job 2:10-

Very interesting that God has given permission to Satan to attack the most righteous man on earth; for three main purposes I think:
    1) Put Job into a trial and test his faith
    2) Show Satan that he cannot defeat God's anointed one
    3) Teach me the importance of being faithful

    Here's what I wrote on January 18
I read Job chapter 3 & 4, and before I read chapter 3, I was looking at the end of chapter 2. And that's what I'm really going to share: Job chapter 2

At 6:17 tonight, Sam called. I was overjoyed.
He got my totally-belated Christmas card and called to say thanks and check up on me. We chatted about stuff and about music and all. He told me that he's feeling really great lately and there's really no physical problem with him at all. I was praising God inside! He's going to have his next therapy on this coming Tuesday. I told him that this Sunday Impact's going to pray for him once again, and that God will heal him completely and he will not need any medication! He really appreciated our friendship and I do too. God I pray for Sam right now that You would take control of his physical condition and bring restoration to all area of his life.

Here's Job--so sick that his friends could not recognize him.
And what did his three friends do?

They began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was.
    -Job 2:12~13-

I felt like I was Job's friends--Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. And Sam was Job. Oh God I would do the same thing for my brother! I would tear my shirts and weep and sat there in silence with him! I am desperate to see a complete healing O God! Bring restoration! You are a faithful God!

    Today - March 3

The only song that came to me. Lord You comfort me with this song. I set my eyes upon You, for I know You've got a bigger plan. You asked me this as I was crying, "Didn't you asked me for the spirit of Job on January 11th?"
Jesus, YOU ARE my three friends!
You put on sackcloths and dust over Your head.
You mourn with me and take away my sadness.
Still I will praise. More than ever. Just like Job.
I am not backing down because of what happened.
You've mourned with me, and now it's time to praise.
You've made a hell for the enemy.
    They shall burn for eternity.
And I ask for speedy salvation in my family through the death of my aunt. Lord only You can comfort and bring peace and joy.
I will say this to my God:
    The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.
    -Job 1:21-

    Bring Restoration

    You bring restoration
    You bring restoration
    You bring restoration
    To my soul

    You've taken my pain
You've called me by a new name
    You've taken my shame
    And in it's place
    You give me joy

You take my mourning, turn it into dancing
You take my weeping, turn it into laughing
You take my mourning, turn it into dancing
You take my sadness, turn it into joy

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    You make all things new
    All things new
