Isaiah is the first book of all prophets in the Old Testament, and the longest. Almost all the prophecy books are talking about 3 things:
1) The nation needs to turn back to God
Stop doing wrong, learn to do right!
Seek justice, encourage the oppressed.
Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow.
-Isaiah 1:16~17-
2) God's promise, forgiveness, and love
Come now, let us reason together.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
-Isaiah 1:18-
3) The Day of the Lord
Your men will fall by the sword,
your warriors in battle.
The gates of Zion will lament and mourn,
destitute, she will sit on the ground.
-Isaiah 3:25~26-
I think these 3 points really can apply to the world right now--world of Sodom and Gomorrah--does not please God even a bit. I found it very interesting that God NEVER changes. For real. Here is the city that's corrupted like Sodom and Gomorrah, yet the Lord, in Ch 1, started to point out all the faults of His people and ask them to turn back to Him! He even said, "let us reason TOGETHER!" He WANTED His people to come back so badly that He gave them a chance to speak and reason with Him! Oh Lord! How mindful are You! How worthless am I!
This world needs justice.
The prayers for the nations should focus on justice. And the outreach projects that Impact's starting to do are about bringing Lord's justice back to this nation and to all people--the poor, needy, widowed, fatherless, sick, and paralyzed! (Isaiah 1:17, 21)
And here's the big question from God:
Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?
Are we ready to reply this?
Here am I. Send me!
-Isaiah 6:8-
Just the verse before Isaiah's guilt is taken away and his sin atoned for. In order to be sent out by God, first we need to repent and be forgiven. And He's more than willing to do so because His love covers the multitude of sin!
People. Get ready. We are in a warzone. Are you ready to run to the frontline and save as many as you can? Are you listening to what God has to say to you about your own sins? Stop and listen. He's asking you to let Him into your life and wash you clean from all sin.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of His glory.
-Isaiah 6:3-
Yes, my Lord. Send me!

Isaiah is one of my favorite books. It's interesting & very powerful. This post reminded me so much of what I remembered when I read it. ^_^ We do need to come back to God. Amen to that!
