1. Time to Pray + Jeff + Genesis

    Tuesday, February 5, 2008
    By johnny
Of course, every second is a time to pray and/or worship.

Praise the Lord that I've been feeling quite energetic today even with just 4 hours of sleep.

Went to pray with Brian, Ramondo, and this awesome dude Daniel, a film major. We prayed for the primary tomorrow and basically to ask God to awaken the church and take away all the confusion about the candidates under the church roof. Let those believers see that they need to pray first to seek His kingdom and righteousness and will before they mark on that ballot. I believe something's happenning tonight. God's doing something tonight. I don't know what He's doing but He's doing something because He heard our prayers in that living room.

Hung out with Jeff again at Starbucks(I love Starbucks!). He told me about another friend, a believer, got into a car accident also recently. Jeff actually told his friend that she should start praying for herself and also the person who crashed into her. And she was confused, "Why should I pray for that person? I was hit!" Jeff then told her that God protected her from injury and through this accident that person and she would learn a lesson and be careful when they drive in the future! I was like....duddddddddde......that's totally awesome XD....I was totally encouraged by this amazing guy sitting right in front of me--Jeff Kuo. His friend was so encouraged by Jeff's attitude and compassion, "I've been a Christian longer than you have, but you grow faster than I do!"

Just give Him some praise right now!

Jeff also shared with me his night at Revelle Bible Study w/ some IV people and he really enjoyed it. He shared with me about The Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25. I was amazed at how much notes he wrote on that sheet of paper with verses printed on it! I could barely find any empty space on that sheet of paper---this guy is hungry for God' words, dude! Lord You do things in Your timing indeed! Totally beyond my expectation! He also asked me about whether a believer's called "Christian" the moment he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. I told him that totally; when Christ is in you, You are a Christian-Christ Follower-Lover of Christ. So I shared with him about longing for the Holy Spirit and told him a little bit about Mardi Gras, Lent, Ash Wednesday, 40-day fast & pray, and Easter. Pretty cool. I got to refresh myself with the early teachings from Jack long long time ago. Good stuff indeed.

Then we went to Ralphs, and we kept on sharing with each other.
    "I've really changed a lot, I realized."
"Totally man. God wants to change everything within you."
Ralphs' got some Valentine's Day sale, and I got a really cool bag and 2 cards. I might just write a valentine's card for Jesus =) I love You Jesus!

Here's this awesome thing: Jeff was singing the song Come Holy Spirit before he went to bed last night. He forgot the first line of the chorus "I'm reaching for You heart..." so tonight he asked me about it! Haha. It was awesome. He loves to worship God, come on! Then we had to walk all the way back to school since the bus wasn't running anymore. It was good. God you've given me this awesome friend and brother. I'm extremely grateful and honored!

    --Daily Reading Stuff...--
I know that some of you know about this already, but by reading it again my faith is once again strengthened because God is the Truth!
    From this website http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2204

In Genesis 17:12, God specifically directed Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why the eighth day? In 1935, professor H. Dam proposed the name “vitamin K” for the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know vitamin K is responsible for the production (by the liver) of the element known as prothrombin. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur. Oddly, it is only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newborn male’s life that vitamin K (produced by bacteria in the intestinal tract) is present in adequate quantities. Vitamin K, coupled with prothrombin, causes blood coagulation, which is important in any surgical procedure. Holt and McIntosh, in their classic work, Holt Pediatrics, observed that a newborn infant has “peculiar susceptibility to bleeding between the second and fifth days of life.... Hemorrhages at this time, though often inconsequential, are sometimes extensive; they may produce serious damage to internal organs, especially to the brain, and cause death from shock and exsanguination” (1953, pp. 125-126). Obviously, then, if vitamin K is not produced in sufficient quantities until days five through seven, it would be wise to postpone any surgery until some time after that. But why did God specify day eight?
On the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. If surgery is to be performed, day eight is the perfect day to do it. Vitamin K and prothrombin levels are at their peak. The chart below, patterned after one published by S.I. McMillen, M.D., in his book, None of These Diseases, portrays this in graphic form.
    Dr. McMillen observed:
We should commend the many hundreds of workers who labored at great expense over a number of years to discover that the safest day to perform circumcision is the eighth. Yet, as we congratulate medical science for this recent finding, we can almost hear the leaves of the Bible rustling. They would like to remind us that four thousand years ago, when God initiated circumcision with Abraham....
Abraham did not pick the eighth day after many centuries of trial-and-error experiments. Neither he nor any of his company from the ancient city of Ur in the Chaldees ever had been circumcised. It was a day picked by the Creator of vitamin K (1984, p. 93).
Moses’ information, as recorded in Genesis 17:12, not only was scientifically accurate, but was years ahead of its time. How did Moses have access to such information? The answer, of course, is provided by the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16—“Every scripture is inspired of God.”

Isn't that just crazy? God creates and He really knows every little function of the human body! God is beyond science! Woohoo!

    ---------
A little background info on Genesis 18: God promised Abraham and Sarah that they would have a son named Issac. Yet they were full of doubt for Sarah was 90 years old and Abraham was 99! And here's my favorite part--the conversation between Sarah and the Lord cracked me up:

Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said,
    "I did not laugh."
    But He said,

    "Yes, you did laugh."
    -Genesis 18:15-

Lolz......I'm still cracking up. God You're funny like that.
    ---------
Later into the chapter Abraham started a bargain with the Lord for the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Sin City back in the good ol days. God told Abraham that He would destroy those cities because of the wickedness. And Abraham pleaded with God to have mercy over His people. He asked God not to bring down destruction if He could find 50 righteous people in those cities, and God said, "alright." And then Abraham didn't ju stop there. He pressed on. And God let him press on--from 50 to 45, from 45 to 40, from 40 to 30, from 30 to 20, and, finally, from 20 to 10. "For the sake of ten [righteous people], I will not destroy it," promised the Lord to Abraham. Nevertheless, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed since God did not find ANY righteous people in those cities. However he saved Lot, Abraham's nephew and his family because of Abraham. God remembers the heart-felt bargaining with Him!
Here's the deal...Abraham wasn't afraid to die! He was bargaining with the Almighty, Powerful One, Creator, God Himself! Woah. I want to do that too. God I long for the spirit of Abraham that I would plead for Your mercy of the land of America! There are definitely more than 50 righteous people in this land! Please do not being down Your wrath of fire upon this place!
    --------
    This is the famous part:
The angel of the Lord told Lot and his family:
"Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!"
    -Genesis 19:17-

But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
    -Genesis 19:26-

Basically we can't look at our past--our sins, for it would come back and destroy us. God was cleaning up the mess and leading us into a new world, yet we tend to look back to the old world. God's heart aches when we do that.
    ---------
I just realized how crazily immoral Lot's family is.
Both of Lot's daughters actually slept with Lot and had children! OMG this is totally wrong. These two daughters made their father drunk and slept with him. I'd say Lot was the victim and he can totally sue his daughters in today's society. Just a thought. Anyhow, they commited a huge sin, and definitely their decendants are not being blessed by the Lord at all.

The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites of today. The younger daughter also had a son;...he is the father of the Ammonites of today.
    -Genesis 19:37~38-

    Moabites: Moab Seduces Israel
While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women, who invited them to the sacrifices to their gods. The people ate and bowed down before these gods. So Israel joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor. And the LORD's anger burned against them.
    -Numbers 25:1~3-

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD. They served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, ...the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites...And because the Israelites forsook the LORD and no longer served him
    -Judges 10:6-

What we do today has a greater effect to the generations to come! What Lot's daughters did effected the destiny of their decendants: being destroyed by the Lord(1 Samuel 11:9). Also a great story about Lord's victory over Moab and Ammon @ 2 Chronicles 20(must read! it's such an awesome story!).

I think that's good for tonight. Time for bed.
Thank You Jesus. Love. Justice. Righteousness.
    Tomorrow. Miracles. Nation changed.

    Johnny

ps. I walked for more than 6 km today...crazy....ouch my legs.
pps. This might be the longest post so far!

  2. Ah! Paper! + Reflection on Things

    Monday, February 4, 2008
    By johnny
Not gonna share much tonight but just ask His presence to be with me and keep me awake as I'm writing this 4-page paper that's due tomorrow at 12.

    Thank You Jesus.
Please keep me awake and give me ideas!

    Johnny

    --------------ADD-ON

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
    -Matt 11:28~30-

Finally finished my paper by 5:30.
It's 6am right now and I'm stirred up by Matthews.
    Once again just some verses.
    They are quite straight forward.

A tree is recognized by its fruit.
    -Matt 12:33-

He who has ears, let him hear.
    -Matt 13:9-

    You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
    For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.
    -Matt 13:14~15-

Then the righteous will shine like the sun
in the kingdom of their Father.
He who has ears, let him hear.
    -Matt 13:43-

And he did not do many miracles there
because of their lack of faith.
    -Matt 13:58-

Jesus come and open up my eyes and ears so I can see and hear in spirit. I've been asking for eyes to see and perceive, and now I'm also asking for ears to hear and understand the language from You. God I do not want to be like those people in Nazareth who were lack of faith. I want to walk in faith so that You can perform tons of miracles on this campus!

    Love You Jesus.

    Johnny

*Just a little reflection on today's worship:
God I really enjoyed Your presence in the room, and would You give me a humble heart & spirit to accept all inputs and criticisms about my leading worship. I still have so much to learn and Lord would you remove that arrogance inside of me for that is the spirit of humanism! Lord please come and ruin my heart constantly when I cry out for Your love and mercy upon me when I show anger and pride over my bothers and sisters. Spirit is willing but body is weak. God I long for a continuous breaking and molding of my heart! Give me Your heart and love! My heart cannot love, but Yours can. Give me a heart of love, for there is no hate in love. Sometime I really don't want to care what other people think about my worship because it's all for You Jesus, yet I know I cannot stop caring about what others think due to my position as a worship/prayer leader. God why can't our worship be perfect? Why is there always something wrong? I don't get it, God. What's perfect worship? Is it the worship in the heavens? No man likes to be criticized or under-appreciated, and that's the spirit of Cain right there. God would you remove that spirit of jealousy and hate inside of me! I guess I should get some sleep. Jesus I need you. My heart's stirred for an answer from You. I hope my questions are not out of my own pride or arrogance, Jesus. Please speak to me, for I desire to have ears to hear.

  3. The Grove + Marianne + Apple

    Sunday, February 3, 2008
    By johnny
The nicest lady on earth = Sam's mom = Marianne!

Annie and I went to the Grove this morning and meet her up over breakfast. It was simply fantastic. God You were there working all things out so that we could meet up! Anyhow, we talked so much and I basically gave her the short version of my 50+ chapters of my book of acts in half an hour. From 9-12 we had a blast listening and shring stories and burdens. Annie left early to go hang out with Jack so Marianne and I were basically sharing our hearts out. It was fantastic. We prayed and shared and prayed and shared! Thank You Jesus. There are just too many things so I'm just gonna tell you that much about our conversation. The Grave's a beautiful outdoor place that's perfect for family and dates indeed. However, I really did enjoy being alone and just enjoying some solitary moments. It was quite refreshing =)

Then I was left alone at the Grove after Marianne left(for I had no car, and my cellphone went dead too!). Got some quarters and finally Enoch came to my rescue. Later on I went to Old Town Pasadena with Eric and learned some stuff from the Apple people. I'm considering to pay them $100 and have the Apple professionals teach me how to use Garage Band or any other recording programs for the entire year(1 hr per week)!

Went to this restaurant called Shakas, an American/Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Hawaiian restaurant in Alhambra right behind Starbucks across from Tony Roma's, with Jeff(he said grace for the 2nd time!), Eric, and Enoch. The food was actually not bad and I do recommend people to go if they want some decent food in Alhambra that's not Chinese "Chinese" food. Good time. I love these brothers.

Anyhow, here I am again. Just want to say that the book of Romans has so far been one of the most inspiring/refreshing readings during this past week. I'm just gonna put some verses out to show how amazing Paul is at writing letters!

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
    -Romans 7:6-

For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.
    -Romans 7:18~19-

So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
    -Romans 7:21-

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
    -Romans 8:10-

Those who are led by Spirit of God are sons of God...you received the Spirit of sonship.
    -Romans 8:14~15-

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
    -Romans 8:25-

The Spirit intercedes for the saints(us) in accordance with God's will.
    -Romans 8:27-

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
    -Romans 8:35-

For real. Nothing can stop Him from loving us!
    Love is God's nature!
A father loving his son should be a natural thing!
Jesus I give You praise and I can't wait for tomorrow.
    Come Lord Jesus come.

  4. Pray and Vote!

    Saturday, February 2, 2008
    By johnny
This is Lou Engle's blog, and here's his take on the election. I really do agree with him 100% about not voting forany candidate that is not pro-life. For I myself have made the vow and worn the LIFE band. I don't know about you, but you should totally look into all candidates and then pray about it. May God awaken the church and mobilize all believers to pray and vote!

Anyhow, that's pretty much it for today as I need lots of sleep in order to wake up at 7 to see Marianne!!!! XD I'm soooooo excited!

Thanks Jeff for driving me back dude. You rock.
    Jesus, I love You!

  5. Eleven More To Go

    Friday, February 1, 2008
    By johnny
    Times surely goes by fast.
I can't believe Febuary is here already!
Today was great. Prayed on the snake head.
With Robbie, Victor, Gordon, Jon, and Jessica.

So here came a group of middle school kids with a student tour guide. The tour guide asked us to step aside just for a sec so that the kids could stand around its head while he talked a little bout the
snake path. One kid was standing on the snake's eye, and the tour guide asked him to step away from the snake.

"You're hurting it," said the guide.
I was like....woah. I know that this tour guide was kinda just playing with the kids, but he did not know that the words he said carried power. He kept on talking.

    "This snake a living art."
Just pause it right there. Woah. That tour guide does not have any idea how alive the snake is in the spiritual realm, yet he was confessing that this snake surely does have some power.

"There's this concept of walking up the snake path--just like 4 years of college, and when you finally wind up to the snake's head, you've reached the library, which represents the tree of knowledge."
Woah. This tour guide really had no idea what he was talking about. I really do believe that the enemy's using all these tour guides as tools for his own purpose--kill, steal, and destroy. And these middle school kids were being affected by his words!

More human knowledge = Snake = Humanism.

And I did not realize something until this morning that the snake's head & its tongue points right at Dr Seuss' statue. This is totally a set-up between Horton Hear's A Who(Pro-life) & Humanism/Abortion! It is not a coincidence that all the artworks all over campus are perfectly set-up--through the hand of the enemy. The first art of Stuart Collection was this huge bird-like creature called "Sun God" that is now standing high on this campus--it is totally crazy cuz UCSD's annual Sun God Festival is infamous of student's extreme usage of alcohol and drugs. It's the festival of lust! And there are SIX colleges on campus, and the sixth one does not even have a name! Moreover, the tiles all over that 560-foot filthy creature are all hexagonic(with six sides)! Faithful readers, UCSD needs your prayer desperately in order to see those walls tumbling down, one by one.
So the tour left, and here came Chanelle, a banker working for BOA. She came over and asked what we were doing and all that and whether we would like to open a free checking account. We shared with her about this whole snake and tree and Horton deal, and found out that she's a believer and she was really impressed and encouraged by our faithfulness and determination to see revival come upon UCSD even though she's not from our school!

So I called Sarah up and put her on speakerphone, and everyone on the serpent's head prayed for her. It was wonderful to see another school's doing Love Tent also. Sarah, keep your head up, cuz God's gonna open up the heavens right there above UC Riverside! Boldness and speak in power.

Left for a good lunch by myself. I saw a guy walking with a crutch, so I went up and asked him what happened and he told me that his right pelvis is fractured and now it's healing. I offered him a prayer and got his name--Omar Felix. I will definitely do some follow up! Thank You Jesus! I ask that You glue the fractured pelvis together and make it ever stronger than before!
Went to class and saw Brittany(the girl whose feet had surgery and who has arthritis), the girl I prayed for on Tuesday, and she told me that her feet are doing just fine even though she was still on wheelchair. God I declare a complete healing over Brittany right now! Thank You Jesus.
After class I headed back to my dorm. And here came a girl who had two crutches, so once again I grabbed another chance to pray for an injured person. Her name's Iris Han and she sprain her ankle playing football. I prayed for and walked with her for she was heading to a class. Anyhow, I just pray that her heart would be stirred up because someone prayed for her healing because God wants to heal =)

And that was that. So I called Jeff up and we hung out a little bit at the library while I was fiddling with my baby Mac. I signed up for a .Mac account and I've created my very own
webpage! Go check it out yo even though it doesn't really contain much, but I love the picture.

Hung out with Brian Cheung over a good dinner. We chatted quite a lot about the election/primary coming up. We also talked about our health and all that jazz. It was great hanging out with Brian. He's just a great listener and a man of love. I totally forgot to share with him about the sunflower! Ah! I have to next week then.

    24/7 prayer meeting
I basically fell asleep for like 30 minutes.
And when I woke up, I felt that God told me this: "Can't you even just stay awake for an hour?" This is what Jesus said to Peter, James, and John after His praying in the garden of Gethsemane. The times is near. Can't you stay awake with me? Can't you pray and not be vulnerable?

Then he returned to his disciples
    and found them sleeping.
    "Could you men not
keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
    -Matthew 26:40-

That totally hit me. I shared it with the group.
This really applies to any believer. Dear Lord I do not want to be sleeping when You're coming in Your glory! I want to watch and pray every minute so that I will not fall into temptation. Yes God many times my spirit is willing but my body is weak. O God, would You strengthen me with Your Holy Spirit so that I'm strong in both spirit and body!

Thursday night is a really harsh time to have prayer meetings for tomorrow's Friday; moreover, this week is the midterm week. Everyone was tired, weak, and exhausted from work. So we all shared a little bit about our lives and this brother Brian Park who can rock out awesome djembe beats asked us to pray for he has aero-otitis media. His ears are sensitive to air pressure, especially his right ear. So right away I offered him a prayer for my left ear was healed with a prayer last Thursday right there on the snake head! We prayed for him a several times, yet his symptom still was the same, yet his faith was totally strngthened! God I still believe that You will heal Brian's ears at the right moment! He believes You are the Healer!

Then I called Jeff up and we went to Starbucks and chilled for a while and talked about his life and how we both should set up a time where we just study, or maybe study together in order to keep each other accountable. We're starting that next week. Anyhow, I was working on this outline for my paper that's due on Monday, and Jeff couldn't really help me out cause his brain could not function after 10pm lol. Anyhow, we had a good time just hanging out, and he's taking me back home tomorrow! Sweeeet.

    That's about it for today.
    God You are so good.
Thank You for reminding me of Your goodness.
    I love You!!

    Johnny

ps. Rick & Marianne(Sam's parents) are in Los Angeles! God would You let us meet up somehow tomorrow! I want to see them and at least hang out with them for just a while!
