Time to Pray + Jeff + Genesis

Of course, every second is a time to pray and/or worship.

Praise the Lord that I've been feeling quite energetic today even with just 4 hours of sleep.

Went to pray with Brian, Ramondo, and this awesome dude Daniel, a film major. We prayed for the primary tomorrow and basically to ask God to awaken the church and take away all the confusion about the candidates under the church roof. Let those believers see that they need to pray first to seek His kingdom and righteousness and will before they mark on that ballot. I believe something's happenning tonight. God's doing something tonight. I don't know what He's doing but He's doing something because He heard our prayers in that living room.

Hung out with Jeff again at Starbucks(I love Starbucks!). He told me about another friend, a believer, got into a car accident also recently. Jeff actually told his friend that she should start praying for herself and also the person who crashed into her. And she was confused, "Why should I pray for that person? I was hit!" Jeff then told her that God protected her from injury and through this accident that person and she would learn a lesson and be careful when they drive in the future! I was like....duddddddddde......that's totally awesome XD....I was totally encouraged by this amazing guy sitting right in front of me--Jeff Kuo. His friend was so encouraged by Jeff's attitude and compassion, "I've been a Christian longer than you have, but you grow faster than I do!"

Just give Him some praise right now!

Jeff also shared with me his night at Revelle Bible Study w/ some IV people and he really enjoyed it. He shared with me about The Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25. I was amazed at how much notes he wrote on that sheet of paper with verses printed on it! I could barely find any empty space on that sheet of paper---this guy is hungry for God' words, dude! Lord You do things in Your timing indeed! Totally beyond my expectation! He also asked me about whether a believer's called "Christian" the moment he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. I told him that totally; when Christ is in you, You are a Christian-Christ Follower-Lover of Christ. So I shared with him about longing for the Holy Spirit and told him a little bit about Mardi Gras, Lent, Ash Wednesday, 40-day fast & pray, and Easter. Pretty cool. I got to refresh myself with the early teachings from Jack long long time ago. Good stuff indeed.

Then we went to Ralphs, and we kept on sharing with each other.
"I've really changed a lot, I realized."
"Totally man. God wants to change everything within you."
Ralphs' got some Valentine's Day sale, and I got a really cool bag and 2 cards. I might just write a valentine's card for Jesus =) I love You Jesus!

Here's this awesome thing: Jeff was singing the song Come Holy Spirit before he went to bed last night. He forgot the first line of the chorus "I'm reaching for You heart..." so tonight he asked me about it! Haha. It was awesome. He loves to worship God, come on! Then we had to walk all the way back to school since the bus wasn't running anymore. It was good. God you've given me this awesome friend and brother. I'm extremely grateful and honored!

--Daily Reading Stuff...--
I know that some of you know about this already, but by reading it again my faith is once again strengthened because God is the Truth!

In Genesis 17:12, God specifically directed Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why the eighth day? In 1935, professor H. Dam proposed the name “vitamin K” for the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know vitamin K is responsible for the production (by the liver) of the element known as prothrombin. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur. Oddly, it is only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newborn male’s life that vitamin K (produced by bacteria in the intestinal tract) is present in adequate quantities. Vitamin K, coupled with prothrombin, causes blood coagulation, which is important in any surgical procedure. Holt and McIntosh, in their classic work, Holt Pediatrics, observed that a newborn infant has “peculiar susceptibility to bleeding between the second and fifth days of life.... Hemorrhages at this time, though often inconsequential, are sometimes extensive; they may produce serious damage to internal organs, especially to the brain, and cause death from shock and exsanguination” (1953, pp. 125-126). Obviously, then, if vitamin K is not produced in sufficient quantities until days five through seven, it would be wise to postpone any surgery until some time after that. But why did God specify day eight?
On the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. If surgery is to be performed, day eight is the perfect day to do it. Vitamin K and prothrombin levels are at their peak. The chart below, patterned after one published by S.I. McMillen, M.D., in his book, None of These Diseases, portrays this in graphic form.
Dr. McMillen observed:
We should commend the many hundreds of workers who labored at great expense over a number of years to discover that the safest day to perform circumcision is the eighth. Yet, as we congratulate medical science for this recent finding, we can almost hear the leaves of the Bible rustling. They would like to remind us that four thousand years ago, when God initiated circumcision with Abraham....
Abraham did not pick the eighth day after many centuries of trial-and-error experiments. Neither he nor any of his company from the ancient city of Ur in the Chaldees ever had been circumcised. It was a day picked by the Creator of vitamin K (1984, p. 93).
Moses’ information, as recorded in Genesis 17:12, not only was scientifically accurate, but was years ahead of its time. How did Moses have access to such information? The answer, of course, is provided by the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16—“Every scripture is inspired of God.”

Isn't that just crazy? God creates and He really knows every little function of the human body! God is beyond science! Woohoo!

A little background info on Genesis 18: God promised Abraham and Sarah that they would have a son named Issac. Yet they were full of doubt for Sarah was 90 years old and Abraham was 99! And here's my favorite part--the conversation between Sarah and the Lord cracked me up:

Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said,
"I did not laugh."
But He said,

"Yes, you did laugh."
-Genesis 18:15-

Lolz......I'm still cracking up. God You're funny like that.

Later into the chapter Abraham started a bargain with the Lord for the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Sin City back in the good ol days. God told Abraham that He would destroy those cities because of the wickedness. And Abraham pleaded with God to have mercy over His people. He asked God not to bring down destruction if He could find 50 righteous people in those cities, and God said, "alright." And then Abraham didn't ju stop there. He pressed on. And God let him press on--from 50 to 45, from 45 to 40, from 40 to 30, from 30 to 20, and, finally, from 20 to 10. "For the sake of ten [righteous people], I will not destroy it," promised the Lord to Abraham. Nevertheless, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed since God did not find ANY righteous people in those cities. However he saved Lot, Abraham's nephew and his family because of Abraham. God remembers the heart-felt bargaining with Him!
Here's the deal...Abraham wasn't afraid to die! He was bargaining with the Almighty, Powerful One, Creator, God Himself! Woah. I want to do that too. God I long for the spirit of Abraham that I would plead for Your mercy of the land of America! There are definitely more than 50 righteous people in this land! Please do not being down Your wrath of fire upon this place!

This is the famous part:
The angel of the Lord told Lot and his family:
"Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!"
-Genesis 19:17-

But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
-Genesis 19:26-

Basically we can't look at our past--our sins, for it would come back and destroy us. God was cleaning up the mess and leading us into a new world, yet we tend to look back to the old world. God's heart aches when we do that.
---------
I just realized how crazily immoral Lot's family is.
Both of Lot's daughters actually slept with Lot and had children! OMG this is totally wrong. These two daughters made their father drunk and slept with him. I'd say Lot was the victim and he can totally sue his daughters in today's society. Just a thought. Anyhow, they commited a huge sin, and definitely their decendants are not being blessed by the Lord at all.

The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites of today. The younger daughter also had a son;...he is the father of the Ammonites of today.
-Genesis 19:37~38-

Moabites: Moab Seduces Israel
While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women, who invited them to the sacrifices to their gods. The people ate and bowed down before these gods. So Israel joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor. And the LORD's anger burned against them.
-Numbers 25:1~3-

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD. They served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, ...the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites...And because the Israelites forsook the LORD and no longer served him
-Judges 10:6-

What we do today has a greater effect to the generations to come! What Lot's daughters did effected the destiny of their decendants: being destroyed by the Lord(1 Samuel 11:9). Also a great story about Lord's victory over Moab and Ammon @ 2 Chronicles 20(must read! it's such an awesome story!).

I think that's good for tonight. Time for bed.
Thank You Jesus. Love. Justice. Righteousness.
Tomorrow. Miracles. Nation changed.

Johnny

ps. I walked for more than 6 km today...crazy....ouch my legs.

blind eyes open you only live once.
open your eyes.
His love never fails. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
